Notes

The signed limited edition of Stephen King's The Shining, published by Subterranean Press in 2014, was issued in a limitation of only 750 numbered copies signed by both Stephen King and artist Vincent Chong. Beautifully produced in an oversized format, the edition features numerous full-color illustrations by Chong and is bound in high-quality materials reflective of Subterranean Press’s reputation for deluxe collectible editions.

Each copy was issued housed in a decorative cloth-covered solander (clamshell) case and accompanied by The Shining Sketchbook, a separate chapbook containing Vincent Chong’s preliminary artwork and concept sketches created for the edition. Due to the size and weight of the production, the solander cases are often found with rubbing, edge wear, or splitting, making copies with well-preserved cases particularly desirable to collectors.

Widely regarded as one of the most iconic horror novels ever written, The Shining achieved even greater cultural prominence through The Shining starring Jack Nicholson. The Subterranean Press edition remains one of the most sought-after modern collectible editions of the novel.
